- A signage application has been submitted for the upcoming JD Sports store (reconfigured MSU01, MSU02, LG03 & MSU10)
- A signage application has been submitted for Crew Clothing to open in LG33 (previous Oasis) - I presume this will be their permanent store location following several temporary lets in recent years

Swatch are recruiting for a new store opening in St. David’s Cardiff. No location confirmed. Can’t think of any suitable units based on current availability.

Some positive news regarding SD lettings…

- Swatch are opening their new store in unit LG11 (existing Typo)
- Damaged Society are relocating from CW21 to CW12/14 (previous Vodafone)
- Trespass are relocating from SDW31 to a newly amalgamated CW13/15 (previous Crouch & MG)

In other news, Smartphones have vacated their store on Cathedral Walk (CW7) and Holland & Barrett have closed their store on Town Wall South due to the opening of their superstore on Queen Street.

Vinyls are now covering the previous Carluccios and GBK units ahead of the summer opening of Banana Tree.

Victoria’s Secret are closing down in St. David’s. Unsurprising news - they’ve closed several flagship stores in recent years, with all new store openings occupying smaller units (in the 5,000sq ft) region.

I’d like to think this closure was landlord-led, to accommodate the store requirements of another retailer. This unit is perfect for Uniqlo who are currently expanding across the UK. Openings in Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham are confirmed for later this year, with a Leeds opening also on the horizon. MSU08 is the only suitable unit in the city for Uniqlo’s store design and size requirements - surely Cardiff is on their radar!

It’ll be interesting to see whether Victoria’s Secret choose to downsize and reopen in Cardiff (similarly to what they did in Bristol)… The previous Morphe could be suitable.

Next bought the UK operations of Victoria's Secret a couple of years back, I wonder if they're adding it to their main store. The St. David's store didn't look that busy whenever I was passing and the rent must be hefty.

According to the comments on Wales on Line social media a staff member has said that apparently they have been told Sephora is replacing Victorias Secret

Sephora will be such a disappointing replacement, especially considering the size of the unit. Sephora’s UK store footprints are in the 4,000 - 7,000 sq ft region and they’re are all single-level. Similarly to VS, there would be a huge amount of wasted, unused space.

Fingers crossed it’s just a rumour based on the fact Sephora replaced VS in Birmingham.

I'm surprised Uniqlo haven't opened in Cardiff yet. There are other empty stores that could work for them, such as the empty unit next to John Lewis, the former Gilly Hicks.
