I haven't been there this week so don't know if its reopened, but why on earth do they need to refurbish Krispy Kreme? Seems such a waste of money, there's hardly anything to it apart from the counter and some tables/chairs.

@ Amoore

The refurbished Krispy Kreme store has indeed reopened! I agree that it was pointless closing it for a refurb... However it does look tidy and fresh!

Major Coup for Cardiff!

Patisserie Valerie has opened in Lower Eastside today! The new store has replaced Cadwalders.

Did any of us see this coming? I didn't see any planning apps, hear any St. Davids announcements nor see any job application advertisements! Great surprise mind!

Centre Update

- Ollie & Nic have closed their store in the Hayes Arcade.

- Jane Norman are closing their store in the Lower Grand Arcade today.

- La Senza have closed down on the Upper Grand Arcade.

- Calvin Klein Underwear had its last day of trading yesterday. They sold all of their stock earlier than expected and have now closed down.

- Poundworld are opening their St. Davids Way store on the 31st of July! The hoardings came down today and the store looks like any other Poundworld, nothing special!

Sounds dreadful for St David's but with the exception of Calvin Klein (although other selected CK stores have closed around the UK) they have all either gone into administration or decided to close ALL their stores to cut losses. It's not just a Cardiff thing.

Another Poundworld though.... :( Now that does seem to be a Cardiff thing!

Really disapointed with the location of Pattisserie Valerie, they normally have quite pretty locations and i was hopeing they would chose somewhere near the castle or on St Marys street or the Hayes. Great that we finally have one though!

Just been, really disappointed with the location, absolutely no way you could sit and relax there and feel you were getting a premium product! The person who served us was quite positive though on their first few days, they all seemed very frazzled and hyper for not many people sitting down.
