Cardiff's finest club, imho. I spent many a night in there on its bouncy dancefloor

I've never really understood the purpose of this retailer - which sells a relatively small range of clothing, accessories, homewares, stationary, nick-nacks, etc. I think its target audience is the bored yummy mummy or the (relatively well paid) female office worker who indulges in a bit of retail therapy in a lunch hour. Whether there is the market for this in Cardiff I'm not 100% sure.

Not sure where it will go on the Hayes. I don't think there are any St Davids units free? The only one is the former Moss Bros unit which is too large, surely?

I guess it's going into the former Moss Bros store.

In London myself and a lot of my friends use Oliver Bonas for birthday gifts for girls. It has some interesting and unusual stuff. I think it will do well, it's not cheap but I think it's range will drive sales, and some stores specialise in women's clothing which tend to do ok in Cardiff.

Stylish optician 'Ollie Quinn' have opened a Cardiff boutique on Queen Street (beneath Jury's Inn). This follows recent openings in Bristol, Bath, Brighton, London & Leeds.

One of Cardiff's best known steakhouses is expanding with a new restaurant venue - in a deal seeing it acquiring part of what was one of one of the oldest sports shops in Wales.

Owners of Charleston's, located at St Mary's Street in the centre Cardiff, have acquired a building that formed part of Cardiff Sportsgear whose main shop ran from 188 to 194 Whitchurch Road.

Does anyone know if the old chap who used to take your orders is still there, you know the one, he looked like Mr Davenport from Rent A Ghost.
He would always take your money before you got the food!!

The Games Workshop on High Street has moved a few doors up to a smaller location, I suppose that frees up the old store to become yet another cocktail bar.

According to a retailer in Morgan's Arcade, a tenant has been found for the Moss Bros unit on the Hayes and they are in the process of applying for planning permission. No rumours heard thus far.

Any thoughts on appropriate/potential occupiers?

I think it would make a nice cocktail bar.

Actually, if there is a planning app this would suggest that the proposed occupiers are looking at a change of use possibly to A3. It's a very nice building and the top floor has an ornate sky light which would be a good feature for a restaurant/bar. I would imagine that the rent would price any local players out of the market so if it is to become a bar/restaurant I would expect to see a chain. Can anyone think of any relatively upmarket chains that have Cardiff on their radar? What about the Raymond Blanc brasserie?

WalesOnline reporting that the Cardiff Bay Toys R Us will close in Spring 2018:

Can't actually find a list of specific stores on their website though...
