This is excellent. 100 new jobs and we need more of these.
This line from the article is exciting

"No 3 and No 4 Capital Quarter are the only grade A buildings being delivered in Cardiff before the end of 2019 and we are receiving strong interest for the vacant space in the two buildings from a number of different occupiers, both Cardiff-based and more inward occupier interest"

It's good news isn't it? It's especially nice to see new entrants to the city and it sounds like there's others looking to come as well as existing organisations looking to relocate. Maybe they'll make a start on the first John Street plot by the start of next year if occupier interest is that strong?

Wouldn't they do Capital Quarter 5 first?

It depends on what they are doing with that final plot. They currently have planning permission for a tall residential tower on that plot.

Although saying that, if you look at the hoardings around number 3 and 4 there's pictures of plot maps with number 5 being an office of around 90,000sq ft. At least there was the last time I was there before December.

It wouldn't shock me to see them change the planning permission to be an office.

Nice photo by Paul on his Flickr page, showing Number 3 almost ready for occupation

I'm curious how they are doing on lettings, we know about Which? but nothing else at the moment.

I'm also curious what they are going to do next, and when. There's the final plot that currently has planning for the residential tower, but I can't help but feel it would seem a little isolated there behind a bunch of offices. Anyone that's walked next to the site will know that the hoardings have shown an office for that plot.

Then there's the John Street plots. You'd assume they wouldn't start on those until they've got a decent level of occupancy in at least this building and maybe even Number 4 as well (unless a pre-let materialises of course), and maybe even have sold at least one of them on to an investment company as they've done with Number 2.

Anyone know anything?

Walking past here the other day I was somewhat taken aback by how big the site is. Hope it's all been planned through and rented.

It's been pretty successful so far Frank, it's why they have built 3 and almost finished 4.

Number 1 & 2 are fully occupied or close to it.

J R Smart sold those on to other organisations anyway, most recently number 2 to the Tesco Pension Fund I think.

Number 3 has one confirmed tenant before the building is finished (Which? are moving to the city), but I've not
read anything else other than there's strong interest in this and Number 4.

There's not actually that many speculative offices under construction in the city centre,
just these two.
