If that first one was actually built i would have eaten my own head in amazement. Did people expect that to be built? The new design is not too bad and fits in with the area a lot better. The first design would have had a lot of objections, the amount of light lost to surrounding buildings would have been a major concern. The new render seems to have taken these issues into account with the stepped design.

This is more modern looking to me, AND has greenery, the first of it's kind in Cardiff. The current redesign just looks like a copy of the Bridge Street tower...
