It's good to see that there are plans to fill in some of the gaps in the rail network, especially in eastern Cardiff which is very deficient in stations. But are there any plans to make much needed improvements to existing stations? I walked past Cathays station yesterday and frankly it is a disgrace. Almost hidden at the end of an alleyway, two short platforms with plastic bus shelters. It looked like one of those remote country stations which get two trains a day. At the very least it should be provided with proper platform canopies of the length of two carriages. If we are going to have an S-bahn style of system, let us have the stations to match.
