I watched a programme yesterday about a couple relocating to a market town in North Yorkshire. Such places have properties selling like hot cakes. Not because there are a lot of jobs but because of the traditional buildings and streetscapes. Why are we incapable of building well? The renaissance cities of Italy have stood the test of time. They are where people go for holidays. What is our problem?
