As somebody who lives in the upper end of Atlantic Wharf (towards the town centre), it's about time we had some new stores opening up. Between Atlantic Wharf, the few thousand new employees at Capital Quarter, existing employees from the Novotel down to Edward England Wharf, a thousand or so students (Zenith, Lumis and Liberty Bridge) and the rent scheme to come it's surely a wise investment at this stage.

Still a unit spare in Number 4 I believe on the left hand side.

Is Plot J delayed then? October has come and gone and no sign of anyone on site yet.

I did see a planning application for discharge of conditions last week I think, although it said plot k, correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t think there was a plot k so I’m assuming it’s the tower

It's definitely plot J.

Plot K is the car park I believe, it doesn't have any cladding so it may be that.

Well what do we know eh! that tower at plot j was supposed to have started recently - I guess we'll maybe hear something if it's not going to happen, or from out of the blue work could begin? I wonder if anyone reading this is able to provide an update? ;)

Looks like the residential tower at Capital Quarter is fully funded according to the following -

https://www.insidermedia.com/news/wales ... ry_article

The article doesn't say when construction will start. I went past the site yesterday and there was no sign of any activity at all other than the area being fenced off, so I guess it will get underway in 2020 now.

As an aside I think Zenith is growing on me. I really don't like the signage but the actual tower itself and the low rise element on Tyndall Street is reasonable and, in my opinion, superior to the tower that went up in Bridge Street.

I went past the site earlier and a portacabin has appeared on the existing surface car park and what I imagine is probably hoarding materials stacked on site. Other than the 'all gone quiet' hope tower this is one I'm really looking forward to. If student accom. has hit saturation point (and over, when that one just down the road is complete). These Build to rent schemes and other apartment schemes look likely to be the developments next to make further additions to our skyline over the coming years. Oh and if they prove popular then unlike student numbers saturation point of people is considerably higher!

Judging by your photos on Flickr last night there definitely seems to be activity at the tower plot now
