I thought I'd seen it in the original masterplan, thanks!
I've heard very little about that since though, I guess it's a small part of the overall project right now.
I believe it's merely 3 coach station bays just outside the car park. It's nothing special at all. If anything, just like the actual bus station, severe lack of bays.
Is it really a lack of bays though? How many coaches at any given time need to be there? I'm no expert but I do use Sophia Gardens coach station sometimes. Are there ever more then 3 stopped there at once? I can't say I've ever noticed a row of coaches there, maybe two at once as they come in, drop people
off, pick up more passengers and go again.
I'd be curious to know what the experts think on this. It's the same for the bus station, it seems like 'not enough', but what is enough? Isn't the idea that they aren't hanging around too long?
This was my thought when you hear all the complaints that the bus station will only have 14 bays. If a bus is there for 5 minutes as they seem to be when they wait around the city that means the station can handle 168 buses an hour which to me seems plenty.
