- Vision Express have reopened following their store refurbishment.

- As per the March 2022 leasing plans, Unit 21 has been let to Damaged Society. That being said, there is no sign of movement in the unit!

St David's Way

- Watches of Switzerland are in the process of planning a full store refurbishment and expansion. According to a reliable source, WoS are in the process of acquiring Greggs (Town Wall North Unit 3), to facilitate this expansion.
- Pravins have reopened following their store refurbishment.

Town Wall South

- Scotts have closed down. Unit 32 remains vacant.

- In September 2021, units LG34 and LG33 were under offer/in solicitors hands according to the Land Sec leasing plans. As per the March 2022 leasing plans, both units are now marked as available.

- According to my reliable source, Phase Eight (LG32), Hobbs (LG26) and Ted Baker (LG25) are all on rolling 6 month leases. It's rumoured all three are expected to exit their temporary leases due to poor trading.

Hill Street

- Units LG80-83 (previously Red Hot Buffet), remain under offer/in solicitors hands. The hoardings around this unit are a complete eye sore.

Had a walk through the centre when I was home recently and Cathedral Walk looks very empty. Also there seems to be no news on the Debenhams unit still. Leisure must be the best option to use some of the empty space but I imagine the rents are prohibitive.

Planning app 22/01661/MNR if the link doesn’t work

Looks like it will replace All Saints!

It will be a shame if the Hayes loses any further retail to A3...though having said that all those that have opened are quality

The Hayes is a great area for restaurants and is a natural extension to the Cafe Quarter. There is an over provision of retail in Cardiff so this is a better use of excess space.

Also didn't rate All Saints chances of going on much longer, never saw anyone in there.

Opening soon are Ivy Asia, Giggling Squid, The Cardiff Townhouse and then Gaucho assuming they get planning. Should be a nice buzzing street.

I think the old Floris/Foli Folie unit is going to be Penhaligons Luxury Fragrance Boutique. Currently recruiting staff for November opening.

Hoping that All Saints go into Gap as it's empty rather than displacing Paperchase

December Centre Update

- Crouch by Fraser Hart have reopened following their full store refurbishment
- Paperchase have temporarily relocated to the unit previously occupied by Castle Fine Art (LG24) - Paperchase associates explained they were bought out of their lease for UG39 and were looking for alternative premises in St David’s for a new long term location [Their temporary lease in LG24 expires in March 2023]
- Blank hoardings have been erected outside LG56/57 and work has commenced on the fit-out for Gaucho
- Office have now opened their new store in LG34
- Penhaligons have erected hoardings in front of their unit (KLG04a) - The store is expected to open later this month

As I previously speculated, I’m expecting All Saints to relocate to UG39, however there is currently no movement in the unit which begs the question of whether they’ll open ahead of Christmas…

All Saints are moving into the now vacant Paperchase. When they closed on the Hayes there were notices to say they were reopening early December next to River Island
