Depending on the size of the bomb, it's possible that more than 400,000 people would be killed and buildings flattened as far away as Barry

for every negative there is a positive

I can't see a general news thread anyway so I'll shove this here,

big fire in central Cardiff by the looks, maybe somewhere on Dumballs Road?

Callaghan Square was mentioned on Radio Wales - I know there was a load of plastic sections for something or other? being stored on that plot southside. I reckon if they were ignited by kids or those with the brains of kids then this is the kind of black smoke we could expect to see!! But that's only a guess. So that would be the plot that the WAG are trying to flog - see you gotta crack on with development or this is what happens! ;) Mind you I could be wrong and nothing to do with that plot

Actually I just had a look at walesonline and I was correct! I didn't look before honestly!! Mind you I only live about a mile away and in that area it's probably the only thing that could've made such black smoke. Anyway enough about me, the point being it looks like some of those 'items' are still on the site and didn't burn so I wonder if they'll be removed or site security stepped up. If not, then standby for acrid smoke bonfire number 2!!

It's not news, but neither is Metro or clickbaity parts of the Telegraph.

It's a flashy, light news service with plenty of light and shade.

The average salary there is something like £19,000 and it shows in their huge staff turnover and annual redundancies. Staff are overworked, and things like proofreading and subbing are things of the past. Many of the staff are English and have no clue about Wales either.

Take for example, last night's headline:

Pilot killed at Welsh airport.

What was wrong with Caernarfon airport? It just isn't self-aware. Even the Telegraph used Caernarfon.

It's not a Wales-wide paper either, as it's very, very Cardiff centric and totally irrelevant if you're from the north or west.

As a former journalist myself, I find it embarrassing to read with features like "15 banging sandwiches in Cardiff you have to stuff in your face right now" (genuine headline; google it!).

However, keep an eye out for articles by Martin Shipton and Carolyn Hitt - they're the only ones worth reading.
