if it's about Cardiff.. Sport, Entertainment, Transportation, Business, Development Projects, Leisure, Eating, Drinking, Nightlife, Shopping, Train Spotting! etc.. then we want it here!

Before or after the whole of Cardiff becomes student accommodation?
It's funny you should say that. There is an application in for student accommodation in City Rd. The proposal is to demolish Poets Corner and the Plumb Centre next door and build up to 9 storeys. See link -
If this is the building on the corner of Woodville Road then yes, work well under way. I was in the area earlier - if it's not hammering down tomorrow I'll try and get a photo.

Can't really see why a fire in a building that was being demolished anyway, should cause developers to pull out. There's surely somthing else at play here.

I have to say, initially I was horrified at Paul Flynn MP's criticism of the project, and the people behind it - but this latest rumoured U-turn has me wondering if he's not right to show concern.

I don't think they will see the project through to the end. I think they will demolish the old sainsburys to get a better price for the sight when they sell up. Hopefully I'm wrong though as that would be a really good development for Newport.
The short list has been announced for hmrc site. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/b ... r-11701535 It sounds like they will need two developments with another 180,000 office needed on top of the 270,000 that we already know about.

Yes I agree, but I read on property week that the moj has just signed up to a new office development in Croydon, taking 180,000sqft, I don't know if that is instead of a Cardiff move?
