Good lord, im starting to lose count of all these towers that are proposed/in progress now..

The council must be strenuously pushing the development of towers in the city as there is currently a crazy number which isnt to be seen anywhere else in the UK for a city of its size.

Some of us remember 2007 so won't be getting so excited. From memory we now have proposed:

Trade street
Britannia quay
John street
Custom house
Hope street
Capitol
Hallinans

I've excluded the central square developments as I am sure they will be built.

Been a while since we first saw this tower announced. Between this, the other tower at Curran Road mentioned the other day and the apartments on Trade Street there's going to be a bit of density in that area of town, and a bit more life added to the area.

If we also see Callaghan Square south developed and Central Quay take off over the next 5-10 years I can see the city centre genuinely spreading a bit further south.

Not sure about the colour of the tower though.

The article says only 30 parking spaces for a 23 story tower. The planners must be bonkers. The only way to get people out of their cars is to improve the transportation system so that it’s more convenient than driving around the city. Not by limiting the legal spaces to park a car. Can you imagine what Dumballs will be like if this goes ahead with no parking allocations for the residents.

It's nuts isn't it? They make assumptions that everyone that's going to move in will work in the city centre. And what are they to do in their spare time even if most did work in the city centre, get the train and bus everywhere? The planning for these towers is seriously flawed.

And what's the alternative? 150 parking spaces and more gridlock conditions on the limited road infrastructure Cardiff has?
