Fair enough. I've just had a look and if you add the 2 little triangles then it increases the floor plate. I can see 30,000 sqft quite comfortably

I don't think any design would use all that space though, you would need stairs, lifts, service areas and it would also need to be set back from the road, railway and dock feeder.

There was a fair bit of equipment inside the hoardings yesterday, lighting, digging equipment, one of those tractors with a trailer on the front. Why would this be?

Lots of activity here today. Could permission have been granted already?

No, planning has not yet been awarded and construction definately hasn't started. It'll be more ground investigation works if anything has been going on there.

I can confirm that a digger and bunch of men were working on the site for a large part of the night, so if construction hasnt started then they are definitely interested in getting it started quickly.

There is a huge amount of earth moving going on, it looks as though they are piling it all up against the railway bridge. Perhaps preparation for access to do electrification before the site is built on? Just a guess.

When I walked past a few days ago I overheard the workers talking about piling methods and how they're going to tackle it, so it must be pretty damn near being approved.

Who is Adrian Jones and what on earth is he talking about in this article?

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales ... es-cardiff

I understand that many people may not like the idea of tall buildings in Cardiff, but he gives little to no reason for his view, merely bashing the plans and saying "Cardiff will never be Dubai". Well Mr Jones, as a supposed "planning expert", what do you propose we put on that tiny piece of land that could possibly be more beneficial?

Ironically, he then praises Swansea's plans for tall buildings. I wonder where he's from!
