Neukreus photo appears to have been taken from Firs Avenue, from somewhere new the 'lollypop' water tower, maybe even from the tower itself.

As for the merits of the two stadia, like Neukreus, I liked the symmetry of the old National Stadium.

One of the problems with brutalist architecture though is that the use of concrete makes brutalist buildings very difficult to adapt or modernise. A 21st century stadium needs good disabled access, hospitality boxes, decent catering and toilet facilities etc. The old stadium had none of those things and it's difficult to see how they could have been shoehorned in given the method of construction.

As for its replacement, it's functional, efficient and is ageing pretty well.'

This is a picture from a couple years back I took from a lane in llandough. Fun fact the girl centre frame was a fluke. Never knew her. Also I'm proud of the symmetry.

So a good place to view our skyline is 500ft ish up in the air from cardiff bay, as this great drone video illustrates nicely

https://youtu.be/KmLzUG7Acow?t=80

So that had me thinking that we have quite a nice skyline developing - and I still think that. But whilst searching for such drone videos, I happened upon this of Manchester!! bit of a reality check to say the least...

OK I know Manchester is a lot bigger than Cardiff - but nevertheless it's pretty impressive! and apparently plenty in the pipeline also

Manchester has a nice skyline now. I think Cardiff needs to break the 30 story mark. We have nearly had it a few time but they have all failed to develop. My worry is with the need for office space about end with people working from home, will we ever break that 30 story mark.

I have said it before and i will say again, Cardiff needs more quality high rise apartment buildings. This is the future, not only to keep the City Centre alive as more people work from home, but the only way I can see the skyline bulking up in the future

Interesting Instagram post showing Cardiff's skyline digitally enhanced and bulked out for the film 'Infinite'

IMHO the best view of the skyline has to be from the top of Rumney Hill
