"My concern is that if the bus station is knocked down and no replacement built then that will be a spectacular own-goal by Cardiff council"
Which is in effect the second "assumption" I listed. You say you don't trust the council to build a replacement station. I've said thats a possibility - but one I think has a low probability attached to it. And, one where the risks associated with not progressing with the plan are at least as high (Central Square remaining an eyesore, lack of development, a bus station that isn't fit for purpose, etc).
Now we can disagree on those probabilities and on the cost-benefits. We clearly do. We can disagree on the special position your planning degree confers on you to talk about this. We do. That to me is all "fair game" in forums such as these.
What we don't need in civilised debate and discussion though is threats and attempted bullying and gagging. You might think its all fair game and very clever of you. But if its some kind of trolling or a wind-up, its not funny. If its for real, its sinister and reflects very poorly on you.
The issue is that this forum developed into a community where people met up - to discuss developments and economic issues in Cardiff. Of course, if people meet, if people become a community - their real identities become known. Now we have a situation where new people join, don't respect that, and instead try to threaten people while hiding behind their own anonymity. Theres just something depressing about that.
