Trainspotting videos..... sadder and sadder...
Build it and they will come.
Get it wrong and they will fall off.

Feel free to suggest unsad stuff then .... I look forward to re-evaluating my assessment on things.

Obviously the trains aren't the point here? Anyway going back to that video - I did think that the only thing that looked remarkably un-changed was the actual station!! ok maybe I'm not being completely fair as we've got a new southern entrance and platform.

You're right Paul, Central is massively underfunded by the UK government/Network Rail. It has far more passengers than Bristol Temple Meads yet there are big plans (albeit delayed) to add new platforms there and it's even run by Network Rail now. The London terminals and Brum all have had hundreds of millions spent on them. Cardiff is clearly a very poor step cousin twice removed

What are these "big plans" for new platforms at Bristol Temple Meads?

Only thing I can find is spending a couple of million (literally) on extending some platforms for new trains. And Network Rail's Bristol page has this:
https://www.networkrail.co.uk/running-t ... -upgrades/
Which seems to be rather mundane stuff.

St David’s House due to go in January next year:

https://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/commercial-property/retailers-tipped-take-space-bbc-14685107

And a few named retailers for the ground floor of the BBC, no major surprises.

The last paragraph also talks about space for 1 more 180,000 office with the open public space. I’m guessing that will wrap around the media Wales building!

Nothing's too good for BBC staff - a Prett AND a Greggs! Luxury.

https://www.networkrail.co.uk/feeds/bristol-temple-meads-records-positive-station-retail-growth-ahead-of-major-refurbishment

Additionally there are plans to bring the Brunel train shed back into use for 2 new platforms.

The WOL article about the retail units says they'll open in October 2019 but I'd be surprised if they didn't open this year, there are already planning apps in for Boots and Greggs signage and it would be a waste of rent for the BBC to leave them empty.

A couple of thoughts on this one.
The shops must open this year surely, if st David’s is being demolished in January 2019. I predict a mistake by wol.
Also it makes more sense for them to demolish st David’s in one go than in phases and by that time of jan 2019 HMRC would have been built by then.
