Cardiff Cycle Superhighways

I welcome any attempt to reduce car travel in the city centre, especially if it makes cycling easier and safer, but you're right, sending everyone via Fitzalan Place and that bit of Bute Terrace past the Atrium is not smart. It's already pretty much a four-lane car-park for large parts of the day.

Imagine the trafic on Fitzalan Place with the construction of easyHotel and possibly some student towers with Station Terrace closed?

The masterplan for 'Canal Quarter' will be released shortly and the clue is in the name... they plan on opening up some of the canal feeders. Fitzalan place is a gridlock anyway, not sure how you could improve these roads. Willing to see a proposal though. Feeding the traffic elsewhere is a easy way for the council to get emissions down in the immediate 'Zone 1' area which includes Station Terrace.

How will this proposal affect the Capital Shopping Centre car park? Are they planning on drastically changing the building?
