Last I was down there (weekend before last) the cladding look finished, the roof was still pink tough (I believe that's the final under layer).
I might be popping down there tonight/tomorrow so I'll see if I can grab a picture (unless somebody does before me)

the ice rink is not fully cladded yet although it is nearly there and shouldn't be too long before it is finished.

The Devils are doing well this season too, selling out a lot of the time. I can see the new rink doing really well, particularly as Bristol no longer has one. It's nice to see a project with as long a gestation as this one finally approaching completion. Now for Bayscape!

It really does not have much architectural merits at all.
I prefer the the temp' blue tent with its exposed wooden beams, sort of nell gwynn's Ice Rink!

This looks like something from the Soviet era (and in a bad way)

Is it going to get some amazing cladding or paint job?

I think there will be coloured elements to it - using Cardiff Devil's colours. But it will still look rather boxy. I think it will look much better when (if) the full scheme is completed - I think the plan is for buildings to directly abutt the ice rink, including shops/cafes and the proposed indoor ski slope. That will reduce the preponderance of dead frontages the current building suffers from (and kind of has to given the insulation requirements for an ice rink).

To be fair, that is the least flattering side, the view from Toys R Us would probably be a much fairer reflection.
Chances are, when all the elements of Cardiff pointe are completed you won't see this angle

Hiya, first post here. I was driving past this morning and i noticed that the final cladding is going up. Its the black and grey "snowflake" like cladding. It's on the end facing the watermark if anyone wants to go and have a look.

So fear not it is going to look something like the renders.

If the weather is good tomorrow i'll stop on my way home to try and get a pic.
