They should absolutely ban alcohol during the match. Let's be honest the Millennium Stadium was the biggest nightclub in the UK on Friday night and it was thoroughly depressing to witness.

It should also be noted that alot of 'real rugby fans' do not go to Wales internationals anymore, why would they? The stadium has become the Mos Eisely of modern day stadia and is full to the rafters of those who don't know anything more that how fit Leigh Halfpenny is and how much they hate England or whoever Wales are playing and the Ref always cheats.

Then this whole 'event' is compounded by lazy journalists who mistake a full stadia of drunken people with unbridled national pride. Whilst it is flippant there is a grain of truth in the poster that says, "Beware, here come the 80 minute patriots'

Have to agree, last time I was in the Millennium stadium for a rugby match most were taking selfies and drinking, occasionally looking up to see if anything was happening.
Watched the game down in the bay, it was deserted. I feel sorry for the restaurants.
Even Weatherspoons wasn't particularly busy and again the rugby was watched but not like it used to be.

Most of the Rugby fever is drummed up by BBC Cymru Wales.

I don't think anyone is suggesting people shouldn't be able to enjoy themselves. I think it is more to do with how they enjoy themselves and how that impacts others. it really does amaze me that some people can't manage 40 minutes without having to throw more lager down their necks.
