Does it just need a better management / sales / marketing team?

It's a hard sell as the airport is poorly located and connected particularly now plans for the Pendoylan by-pass have been dropped.

Not that Bristol Airport is an ideal location either. Filton and East Moors would have been better options for the two cities but the UK Government was scrabling for pennies in the 1950s and chose to adapt old RAF bases instead.

As you say, Bristol is not well located, I'd argue even worse than Cardiff (at least there is a station, albeit with an hourly train and a bus link), so I don't see why CWL can't be doing a lot better. I think Severnside would be the best solution but unlikely to happen any time soon.

Better transport from Cardiff is essential I think.

I never get this argument. Cardiff airport is very well connected by road and rail. The proposed Pendoylan bypass was always a white elephant as you can easily acces the airport from the east or west already. I'm sure some people expect the airport to be stuck right in the middle of a city centre centre or something.

The bus connection is very slow and the trains are hourly (2 hourly on Sundays), so while it may be well connected, the services are far from ideal.

What would have been ideal is a rail spur into a station in/next to the airport but that's pie in the sky.
