Cardiff airport

Not so much a win for Cardiff as a loss for Bristol. The Swansea>Cardiff>Bristol Airport bus service is being withdrawn.

I didn't even know there was such a service!

Maybe the Welsh Assembly could buy and run it themselves after all it has the words "Cardiff" and "Airport" in it.

I'll miss this service a lot. It was especially good (journey time wise) after they cut out the Bristol bus station and UWE stops. I do however think they failed to capitalise on the potential income of picking up fares from Brizzle airport to Bristol bus station - the flyer is always well occupied with a good half of the passengers going to Bristol station.They could have hoovered up quite a few of those to top up the income streams.

Passenger numbers had also picked up quite a bit on the BRS to Cardiff route but not enough to make a buck on the route it seems.

That is good news. It's not a game-changer but it's a definate step in the right direction. Not having services to places like Glasgow and Cork was pretty shocking.

Apparently National Express are starting a replacement service to BRS but I think the fares are higher than when Greyhound ran it.

It's always a case of 'Back to the Future' at this airport. All those routes (apart fromMilan) have already been introduced and withdrawn several times over the past 15 years.

National Express? I'll look out for that!

This is not just about flights from Cardiff but flights to Cardiff. An opportunity for this airline to market the business opportunities and tourist attractions of Cardiff AND the wider area. There are a lot of things happening.
