Me too - although in those days it was called Glossop Terrace Maternity Hospital. I'm not sure when the name change occurred. It's going to be a bloody big plaque!

We could restrict the plaque to CWM members which should make it a manageable size! :D

A hydro electric scheme at Radyr Weir is due to commence -

Seems sensible to try and harness the power of the Taff. Anyone who has seen Blackweir when there has been heavy rain can bear testimony to the power that is generated by the rushing water.

Top end of Church Street is a bit of a sorry sight, four vacant units in a row now.

That's not good - gives a pretty bad impression. Such is the volume of Restaurants in town now, the competition is crazy. But this street should be the heart of the 'Castle Quarter' end of town and vibrant. With the Church at the end it's a great street, and few rugby fans that visit the city won't feel it a duty to have a pint 'or six' in the Old Arcade. Fingers crossed that things are going on behind the scenes and we see some quality occupations soon.

New flats going up fast by Morrisons although a bit of a tight squeeze.

It looks to me as if the landlords have been steadily clearing the tenants out prior to redevelopment. It's an ugly building in a really good location, plenty of opportunities to do something good there.

I hope you're right. You could well be. I wouldn't have thought they'd be difficult units to let so they may be being kept deliberately vacant. It would be good to see a more sensitively designed building replace the current one.

Has there been any movement on a replacement for the Motorpoint?

The arena already misses out on major acts that require 12 to 15k seats. If Bristol get their arena up then the Motorpoint will miss out on even more events. A Bristol Arena may leave Cardiff with no requirement for a bigger arena.

Reminds me of Bristol & Cardiff Airports all over again.
