New Ice Rink

Not a lot happening here. I gather the Canadian owner of the Devils has offered 20 million for the ice rink so as to get it finished ASAP so they can get in it before the season starts.? Any news

I hope that's the case. It may provide some start-up funding for the ski slope. Greenbank don't seem to be a financial heavyweight.

The Devils are resigned to being in the BBT for the early part of the season - but they have tabled an offer for the rink. The Canadians have very deep pockets so I suspect a deal will happen.

I heard recently that the money has run out. There is a £6 million shortfall. Anyone know anything more??

Quite a lot of activity at the rink now, they must have read all the posts about nothing happening. Also they are now working on the skeleton of those river side town houses ? on the bank of the river Ely down stream of the white water circuit which apparently have been deserted for over a year.

There does seem to be more 'sold' windows stickers right across the development.

There was a small crane next to the riverside houses the other day but it seems go have disappeared. I was hoping work was about to start on the houses still such on the meccanno stage

I was in that part of the Bay yesterday - work still happening on the ice rink. There is a fair bit of activity down there - the apartments next to Morrisons has shot up & they seem to be working on apartments near the White Water Centre. Adds to the natural flow from Cardiff into Penarth Marina.
