Aren't these the same people who designed a convention centre for the bay too?

The housing development across from Cardiff Bay railway station is now visible. It's a hell of a lot better than I feared and blends in rather nicely.

Makes you wonder why the apartment scheme on James st hasn't got further? The old Coal Company building apartments went pretty fast as well didn't they, and so did the ones opposite the Millennium center, so there must be demand?

Western Mail reported yesterday that the old Municipal Club on City Rd is to be redeveloped as a 9-storey apartment block. O think this is next door to the old C&V college building.

A new wave of redevelopment for City Rd is certainly something that should be thought about. Albany & Wellfield Rd are particularly buzzy at the moment with lots of cafes & bars so if City Rd can be spruced up it may allow for a natural (welcome) drift from Centre to that part of town.

That's going to be housing, I think. Wasn't this the land the council swapped as part of their proposals for extra WM and EM school provision in Grangetown?

The office building discuss above, just off Dumfries place, is not going to happen it seems. Instead, the site is earmarked for...

.. Student Accomodation. Planning app going before commitee this month!

Better than an empty space but what have developers got against round & curves ..... just a bit required to soften it. The trainline in from Maindy Rd to Queen Street is starting to resemble a Minecraft town.

Oh well, a shame because that office looked really nice. Perhaps there wasn't any demand for it anyway given all the other schemes on the go.

More student housing though ? I suppose this is a small scheme but there's loads of them cropping up.

As Rhodri said, better than an empty space.
