The new city deal money put up by the Welsh Government is the money already destined for electrification of the Valley Lines.
Surely this is not news|?

why is this taking so long? everyone agrees it needs to be done. why can't the state just get on with it? why does everything have to be so slow. typical public sector efficiency

HMRC looking to employ just short of 4000 in a Cardiff regional office. Looks like Llanishen will be closed. Jobs created by 2019.

Excellent, assume the site will be sold for housing. Goodbye 60's carbuncle!

Is this the govt. dept. who were looking to relocate to Central Square then?

It's sure looking that way which is surely great news for Cardiff City centre - will this be above the new bus station? presumably somewhere in Central Square? or a development that we haven't heard of yet?
Outside of our city centre development interest, there's going to be a lot of backlash about this decision as a fair few jobs being moved from other locations.
