Not at all. And I worry that places not on the High Speed route will fall behind. Both towns that are bypassed, and areas like Wales & the South West (incidentally, one of the economic assessments suggested tens-of-thousands of job losses in the "Greater Western" region).

There is congestion, but that can be solved by investment in stations and bypass/take-over sections of track in key bottlenecks for a fraction of the cost. The cost/benefit of HS2 looks very weak indeed - even accounting for the reduction in congestion. Schemes with much better cost/benefits have been postponed or cancelled as this scheme gobbles up the money.

Its basically just something big and shiny a certain politician with a penchant for hard hats can point to and go "Growth", "North", "Fast".

If I see another animation on either HS2, M4 relief road or the South Wales metro I will scream.

First Minister Carwyn Jones said he is "delighted" more people will get the chance to learn about the project and not kick Labour out

Maybe this is all part of the UK roads plan, it will all be done via VR in future.

The only actual bit of Metro building I've seen is a 20m long metro bus lane at the top of the port road near Barry.
This is presumably is to allow buses to get to Culverhouse Cross a bit quicker, only problem is in the morning the traffic is queued all the way back to this junction which is about two miles so from Culver. Therefore a complete waste of money when its actually needed.

PS
Has the electrification stalled on the main line?
I travel to London every two months or so and there was excellent progress up to about six month ago. Now its all gone a bit slow, this side Reading.

I often point to a shiny helmet and say ' growth north and fast'

At about 3 minutes 40 seconds through the recently shared video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H83Va9ET0BA) it shows a new Cardiff bay station nearer to Roald Dhal Plass, and also a new station Loudoun Square (about half way down Lloyd George Avenue).
I guess this means the existing Cardiff bay station listed building is going to be left as unused/derelict, and the track diverted around it? Or could they even move it (I am not sure on the rules of listed buildings) either to nearer the bay, or to St Fagans.
Even though i can understand the positioning of it is not great for the plans, it's a shame the building is in such a bad condition, and makes the area look very run down.

I've always thought it couldn't be moved but actually you could extend it about 300m. That said would it be worth it?
What about a connection to Cardiff Central? Again that might be difficult unless they go light rail.

Rather than a station at Loudon Sq, what about one at Callaghan Sq? You have all the offices, capital quarter over the road and the college too.

Not a top priority considering it's a few minutes walk to Central from Callaghan Square
