I was surprise by that view myself when I came down that road.

I really do like the building, it looks nice and the quality of the finishes is obvious. But I do wish it was taller as it does look a bit too dumpy!

What I don't understand, is why Admiral had a building purposely built for them but then retain 3 floors of office space in Capital Tower? Surely they should have built say another 5 floors and had a bit of space to grow?

The 3 floors in Capital Tower are for Confused.com I thought? They want to keep that separate - as a price comparison website its not meant to favour Admiral products. Nor is it meant to collude on pricing.

I think the HQ does have some space to grow into - but I think they are looking increasingly to Newport and especially Swansea for growth for customer service and sales roles. And if anything they are probably better on staffing numbers shrinking in the long-term as more and more stuff moves online.

If they grow into other insurance markets and that requires more HQ staff, then there is always the Rapport site across the road - at least for now.

If that's what it is then fair point. I just heard from a leasing point of view that it was Admiral and wondered why they hadn't catered for those staff when planning their new build.

If Watkins Jones do get their way with the tower on the corner of Bridge St and Charles St then the MA Rapport building site would be right for redevelopment. That's a big plot of land there and I expect it'll be in demand in a couple of years.
