Here is the design and access statement for the Interchange (which will be submitted with the planning app). A few additional design images. From street level it generally looks OK. However, my main worry is the view from (a) the station platforms, (b) the BBC, and (c) the proposed office building and residential building. A view of an open air car park (even at level 2 above the bus station / retail units) does not exactly scream "ambitious city centre scheme". The car park should be fully covered, with either:
i) A roof garden for use by residents of the flats, tenants of the offices, and even "Joe Public" (with restaurant and terrace).
ii) Or an additional lower rise building be built between the office and residential scheme.
I'm still not enamoured by the design: the resi and office components are too different in style in my mind, which would work if they were separate buildings but doesn't when they are joined by whats effectively a podium. But I guess that could be just taste. What is more fundamentally bad design and planning for such a site is the wasted opportunity of an open air car park!

). Anyway like others, my main concern is this gap that will be a rooftop car park! It just seems a shame that the roof of what looks like a reasonable area can't be used for another purpose - some green space would be great. Oh well hopefully this won't be a problem visually from ground level at least, although not the best of views from an apartment in the larger block is it
