It looks ok but I won't get excited by it until I see diggers on site.

I think it is took risky in colour, the orange and black is too prominent and gloomy. i think the materials and final look will be that of Sky Plaza in Leeds which isn't that great a building

I really like it, no awful cheap white render, interesting colour and great height. Some of the CGIs are reminiscent of a twist on Barcelona architecture.

Looks okay. Only at concept / pre-app stage so the design will evolve from this. I have a lot of respect for RIO so hopefully a great tower.
I would however prefer a more structured design and also a bold statement.

Well I just hope that there's some strongdiscussion with the planning department/design council at this early stage... The more recent developments are finally improving in quality, render is slowly becoming a thing if the past, although the cladding on capital quarter is not the way forward... Brick is used alot more widely in London and I don't mean shitty red or yellow machine cut crap but stuff like the new creative centre in the Bay. That, I think, is the real way forward in terms of quality.

I hope they don't get forced down to a reduction in height, and if they do I hope it isn't below 30 floors. It would be great to have two towers of that rough height in the city within 5 years (if the Blades at Central Square goes ahead).

Excellent! I think, though, it is the Aurora Cardiffus, it usually signals great intent & promise.

Agree Reddragon good quality bricks ala some of the developments in kings cross - although i think it'd be a bit pricey for this development.

One wonders how quickly all this coloured cladding weathers and ages.

Funny looking at it in the last image, the Radisson looks so small. Just shows how low-rise the city actually is.
