Sure enough, just topped out. I'm really looking forward to seeing the cladding on this start to appear. Hopefully they'll pick up some more tenants for the building soon as well.

Thanks !

Pleased about that, it really had to be half decent considering where it is and how it's being sold.

Slight delay going to happen on the BBC Wales move to Central Square. No surprise considering there's a bunch of things
that have to happen first.

I think Media Wales are assuming a short delay in signing the lease means a delay in the whole project. There's no reason why it should. The site has to be cleared before the build can start.

The council have got one of those 'display/information vehicles' camped at the front of the bus station near wood st. They have an excellent model of the development there. Had a chat with the bloke who was manning it. It seems that the intention is to do the actual construction of the BBC, Plot2 and the new bus station all at the same time. I say bus station but this is a very big building and only the ground floor and maybe a lot of the first floor will be dedicated to that purpose - there's one heck of a lump for 'allsorts' on top of that - hotel - offices - residential. Anyway he said the intention was to have the bus station completed first. Oh and we should see the flattening of marland house in december! Yes folks, from early next week it's the beginning of the end of Central square as we knew it - praise the lord!!

That's interesting..

The planning app for the BBC building only had the basement of 2 central square as part of it. The rest is subject to a separate application. Rightacres had said they wanted to progress with it quickly, but were keeping their options open. To actually go ahead may suggest they have some keen interest in the build.

And yeah, theres upwards of 200,000 square foot of space above the bus station, with a hefty chunk of office, as well as hotel space there. I had wondered if they would build the bus station, and then leave the upper floors until when demand allowed. Again, maybe signs of relatively healthy demand?

why would the bus station need to extend to the first floor?
